Boredom
Boredom is a state of weariness or a lack of interest in something.
Boredom indicates that you are doing something you don't find satisfying.
A Thought:
Boredom can be a strength or a weakness depending on how we choose to look at it.
Avoiding boredom can cause one to miss out on chances to be creative or innovative.
Embracing boredom can be used to achieve extraordinary results and discover hidden truths.
A Truth:
The difference between who you are and who you want to be is your ability to be consistent.
Many people want to achieve extraordinary results, but few are willing to embrace the boredom that comes with being consistent.
An Application:
How do I relate to the concept of boredom?
What can I discover or create when I start to feel bored?
Purpose
Purpose is acting with intentionality.
Purpose is the reason behind our actions.
A Thought:
Purpose gives meaning to boredom. When done with an end goal in mind, mundane activities become stepping stones to achieving something great.
Instead of seeing yourself repeating the same activities over and over again (boredom), visualize yourself building a habit of consistency (purpose).
A Truth:
When we are bored with an activity our minds divert to what we would rather be doing.
An Application:
What would you rather be doing and how can you get started on it?
What can I learn from this monotonous activity?
Opportunity
A Thought
Opportunities are not only found but they can be created.
A Truth
Purpose plus boredom equals opportunity. When you start to view the same things from a different perspective, you are able to create opportunities for yourself and those around you.
An Application
What can I start doing to recognize the opportunities around me?
What can I do to create better opportunities?
